Cocktails and Courtship

After a busy week at work preparing for the fashion show at the white gallery (only 6 days to go) as soon as the clock hit 5 I was free to go and soak up some sunshine.
Something about the sun coming out always puts me in a good mood, maybe it's the possibility of losing my less attractive gaunt vampire look and gaining a tantantan!! Or maybe it's that you can finally sit outside in the garden on a warm summers evening with a cocktail and food roasting on the BBQ........whichever one it is summer has finally emerged from the cold dark long winter and its going nowhere any time soon!

Friday night all i wanted was a night in but i sure as hell made the most of it!

Mint Mojitos and Mint Lamb burgers - with a little help from my lovely assistant Mr Marriott

If I've learn't anything over the years its that food is always the way to a mans heart......and cocktails are always the way to mine!

Mint Lamb Burgers - makes 8 mansize burgers (perfect for 4 people)
Minced Lamb 1Kg
Mint 14g or half a bag
Chilli 2 small fresh ones
Onions 1 large red
Garlic 2 cloves
Ground Cumin 1 tsp
Lemon Zest and half juice
Salt and Pepper (to season)

Ciabatta bread (to serve)

How to

Chop all ingredients till they are as fine as possible without losing a finger.

Add all the ingredients into a large bowl with the lamb and get stuck in! Mash, Squeeze and Need the mixture until you think the ingredients are evenly distributed.

Now separate into 8 and roll into balls.

Heat a large pan, add some oil and carefully place the balls into the pan, remember to mash them down to make your burgers take form.

Now i cooked these in a pan for about 7-8 minutes on each side (as they were rather thick), then set aside on a plate to rest for a few minutes before you serve.

Cook some ciabatta bread and cut in half, add your burger and serve!

These burgers are great with some good quality chedder cheese.

As my weekend has progressed it has just gotten more and more lovely!

Mr Marriott and I decided to make our Saturday abit countryfied so we headed off into the Kent countryside to a farm to feed some animals....sadly what i realized whilst there was that i may have abit of competition when it comes to my man.....

Thankfully he left them behind and he and i went onto a farmers market for some lunch.

Finishing off a wonderful weekend my gorgeous Mr Marriott presented me with a little present....

I'm dedicating this post to Mr Marriott (my perfect guy) and the lovely few days I've had before heading back to a hectic office and fashion show next weekend!

I'll give you guys all a sneak peak of the fashion show, models, backstage and outfits of the event!

SNEAKPEAK:

Lara Croft inspired hair.....potential style for the fashion show!!

Hope you guys had a wonderful weekend.

In her bag...

For a while now I've been considering making a 'what's in her bag' page, we all know a girl that is frightfully prepared for any situation and i've always been rather intrigued by what i find at the bottom of my bags.....on average a girl has 40 items in her bag!
Now I wouldn't say I have 40 but I'm pretty damn sure it'll get there....

So these are my beauty MUSTBUYS!
Make Believe
Make Believe bronzer set gives me that perfect healthy glow even in the dullest conditions! I use this product religiously and find its perfect for when i'm on-the-go....its the perfect bronzer for me and i cant wait to try their other products!
Bring on the fake tan!!

Benefit Sugarbomb
I've always been a fan of benefit makeup, from its presentation to the actual product its pretty damn cool! This particular item was a gift from my boss, and since the day i got it I've never stopped using it!

The range of colors gives you a multi-pigmented finish, ensuring a natural shimmering look and you only need to use a little as it goes a long way.

Rose insists you let me know your latest beauty MUSTBUYS! xx

The Icing and The UGGs

This weekend i thought i'd venture out into the cold and have a bit of retail comforting, I've been pretty busy lately with work so cake and clothes have become my therapy...and i'm not one to complain!

The Famous Hummingbird Bakery Cupcakes - its like heaven!
If you haven't already tried them then i demand you get yourself down to one of the bakery's or order online and try it now!! Their based all over London and i find they are the perfect place for afternoon tea with the girls on a Saturday afternoon!
These are definitely my addiction! - The beautifully colorful ones are vanilla flavor and the creamy looking ones are black bottom flavor.... I'm definitely gonna have to get myself back in the kitchen if i'm going to afford this cupcake addiction!!

UGG Australia

Right so back to my retail therapy buy.....as soon as i saw these shoe's i knew i had to have them, they are the single most comfortable boots EVER! With a fur lining near the toe and an uberly cushioned sole it's like i'm wearing my everyday Bailey Button Uggs, my feet are having an amazing time and i can honestly say i've never found a pair of heels so stable, everyone needs a pair of these beauties!
I've spent the last two days wearing them and had a Ballet/Pointe class inbetween and i'm still loving them!
Pain free heels...who knew!!

Thought i'd give you guys a preview of my outfit today, i'm wearing my UGG Australia boots with my BooHoo leather insert leggings (every girl needs a pair of these - so chic), a plain black vest top i made and a casual Zara Man cardigan.

I'm really loving this outfit today, definitely casual chic!

Rosee Insists you guys get the touch and show me your Casual Chic look! I'd love to see them x

Sunday Morning Sunshine

Sunday Morning are the best time of the week for me especially when the suns out, so i started my day with a cup of Fortnum and Mason's Earl Grey tea with lemon in bed whilst just catching up on blogging and twitter from Saturday.

As you can see i have a tendency to not blog on a Saturday (this will change i promise) but for now my excuse is that i'm working hard on designing my own clothing and accessory line...once i can disclose pictures and sketches to the public you guys will be the first to know, as i want all comments and opinions!!

So back to my Sunday, I've lately decided to take up french as a second language; its hard i have to admit but listening to the words just roll off the tongue after hours of practice gets me through! I took my laptop, a notebook and pen and a handy french phrase book all out into my garden and thought i'd serenade all the neighbors with my french phrases.....I'm not sure they realized i was actually saying 'My compliments to the chef!(Veuillez complimenter le chef de ma part)' for about 20minutes aloud!!

Today's outfit is very simple but i love it!
Strapless summer top: Primark £12
Sun hat: Primark £7
Sunglasses: Soul Cal £15
Cross Necklace: Primark £5

Rosee insists wishes you a Happy Sunday!! x

NYC chic

When i buy something new i am just one of those people you'll fine walking out a shoe store in a freshly bought heels, putting all my shopping bags into my newer bag and coming out of Starbucks toilets completely transformed....i have this urge to put together a new outfit together in my head whilst shopping, then once its bought I've gotta put it all together and see what I've got!

Top - Primark £10
Skirt - River Island £30
Bag - Michael Kors £240

I've been wanting to try out this outfit for god knows how long and finally this English weather has stopped raining or being bitterly cold enough for me to give it a go.
I chose the contrast of a statement quote casual top with this aztec print midi bodycon skirt because coming up to the bridal fashion show next month there's just so much to do at work and i work best when know i'm comfortable, i paired this outfit with a navy cardigan and black studded slippers.

My Michael Kors is just the icing on the cake when it comes to most of my outfits, I'm definitely considering buying another....this one is definitely going to get its use!!

Rosee insists you show me some of your style x

I left winter in the past....

Bikini: Hollister £42 - it was love at first sight
Sunhat: Primark £7 - so i never fry my hair in the heat
Necklace: Primark £4 - gotta accessorize around the pool
Sunglasses: Soul Cal £15 - so no one ever knows where you're looking
Charm Bracelet: Present - boutique buy - always wear something sparkly in the sunshine

When ever i go away i always like to plan a few outfits for going out, days trips and occasionally poolside....however this year i have 3 holidays, 21 outfits per week (excluding travel wear) and 63 outfits to prepare!!
These are going to range from poolside, casual wear and evening wear.

I'm gonna keep you guys posted every step of the way....meaning shopping trips, brain storming, DIY and any other ideas or inspiration i find.

Hope you all enjoy!

Rosee insists you get in touch and tell me what you think x

Baking with Rosee

This weekend everyone was out of the house so I had the kitchen to myself to brush up on my baking skills; if any baking mishaps occurred I could swiftly hide the evidence and pretend I'm a master at this kinda stuff, if anyone asked it was quality over quantity!
The first thing I made was Focaccia bread with lemon and rosemary, this was actually a great success! For once the bread wasn't as hard as a cricket ball or have that teeth shattering effect....my family will be so pleased I'm not trying to feed them rocks!

I got my recipe from the BBC The Great British Bake Off (one of my favorite TV programmes) and added lemon and rosemary for that extra zing and decoration.

I also made my specialty pizza bread, i used Jamie Oliver's Italian herb and sun-dried tomato bread mix and then added all my pizza toppings: chorizo, peppers, onions, olives and grated cheese on top.

My cooking attempts have for once both worked out (so nothing to hide here.)

Rosee Insists you get baking too....the smell of freshly baked bread in the morning is like heaven!! x
